Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Last updated October 24, 2026. Case Velocity is operated by Legal Velocity, Inc., 440 65th Street, West New York, NJ 07093.
Terms of Service
1. The service
Case Velocity is case-management software for law firms. It keeps your firm's case records and gives the Claude account you connect a way to read them and report back. Claude, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive are services of their own providers, under their own terms; you bring your own accounts for each.
2. Accounts
The person who registers a firm is its account owner. Each additional person gets their own sign-in. You are responsible for keeping passwords private and for everything done under your firm's sign-ins.
3. Fees
The subscription is $499 a month for the firm's first user and $200 a month for each additional user, billed monthly through Stripe to the card on file, after a 14-day free trial that begins at registration. Additional users are prorated from the day they are added and removed from the next bill when they are removed. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Fees are not refunded for partial months. An account given to you at no charge (a free account) is not billed and needs no card for the time it was given. When that time ends it continues only if you start the subscription, with no further trial; if you add a card earlier, the first charge is made when the free time ends. The subscription includes LVAI Pro, Legal Velocity's legal-skills plugin and connector for Claude, for every user of the firm for as long as the firm has access; it ends when that access ends. If the price changes, we tell the account owner by email at least 30 days before the first bill at the new price.
4. Your content and your responsibility
Your case records remain yours. Case Velocity proposes; your firm decides. Drafts, dates computed from court rules, and updates read from your email are first passes to be checked by a lawyer before they are relied on. Nothing on the site is legal advice from us, and the service does not create an attorney–client relationship with us.
5. Acceptable use
Use the service only for your firm's lawful work. Do not attempt to reach another firm's records, probe the service, or resell access.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and will give notice of changes to these terms by email or on the site. We may suspend an account whose subscription has lapsed or that breaks these terms.
7. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim arose.
Privacy Policy
Updated October 26, 2026, to describe the iPhone and Android apps and Phone link. Updated October 11, 2026, to describe the site's own connection to Google, including reading a case's Drive folder to write drafts (see Google user data).
What we keep
Your account details (name, firm, email, a salted hash of your password — never the password itself), the case records your firm enters or accepts, the requests you leave for Claude and Claude's reports back, and billing identifiers from Stripe. Card numbers are held by Stripe, not by us. If you are invited to a free account, we keep the name and email address the invitation was sent to. We keep a record of each email the site sends about an account (to whom, what kind and when, not its text) and of any address that asked not to be emailed again.
What we do not keep
When a member of your firm connects Google Drive to the site, the site writes a nightly backup of your firm's records and files, and a readable snapshot of your open cases, into a folder named "Case Velocity backups" in that member's own Drive, and moves backups older than the firm's chosen number of days (30 unless changed) to Drive's trash. That copy is yours: it lives in your Google account, not with us.
We do not hold your Google or Claude passwords. Claude reaches your email, calendar and Drive through the connections in your own Claude account, which you control and can disconnect at any time; those connections are governed by Anthropic's terms, not by this policy. Each person at your firm can also connect their own Google account to the site itself (Connect Google); what the site then does with Google Drive, Gmail and Google Calendar is set out under Google user data below. Files you add to a case are stored in your Google Drive, not on the site. When you ask Claude to organize a case folder, Claude moves files between that folder's own subfolders; it never deletes files, and the only thing it moves to Drive's trash is the earlier copy of a call log it has just replaced.
If you connect RingCentral, you sign in at RingCentral and it hands the site an access token for your own extension; we store that token encrypted and use it only to place the calls and send the texts you start on the site, and to read your call log and text messages so that calls and texts with the people on a case can be shown on that case. We never hold your RingCentral password. Disconnect RingCentral in Settings at any time; the token is revoked and deleted, and what was already filed on your cases stays. The phone panel in the page is RingCentral's own software running in a frame from RingCentral's servers; you sign in to it directly with RingCentral, it keeps its own sign-in in your browser, and the site only receives from it the details of the calls and texts it handles so they can be saved on your cases.
The iPhone and Android apps
The apps show the same records as the website. On the phone itself they also keep: a notification address for the phone (issued by Apple or Google), which we store with your account so we can send the notifications you leave on, and delete when you sign out of the app or delete your account; whether you chose to lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint (the check is made by the phone, and nothing about your face or fingerprint reaches us); and your answer to whether Claude may work on your cases from the app. Papers you scan are saved as a PDF on the case you choose, like any other document on the site. When you press the microphone to speak instead of typing, your words are turned into text by the phone itself when it can, and otherwise by the phone maker's speech service (Apple on an iPhone, Google on Android), which the app tells you before it is used; Case Velocity receives only the text that appears in the box, and only when you send it. The apps sell nothing and collect no payment details.
Phone link
If you link your own cell phone (Settings › Phone link), the Case Velocity app on your Mac or Windows PC, or the Phone Link app on your Android phone, sends us the calls and texts between that phone and people on your firm's open cases, as you choose there (texts, calls, the photos and files sent by text, how far back, and numbers never to log). It tells a client's call or text from everything else on the device and sends nothing else: other calls and texts never leave your phone or computer. What it sends is filed on the case, seen by your firm or only by you as you choose, and kept and deleted like your firm's other case records. Calls are never recorded. You can pause or unlink a phone at any time; unlinking stops it at once, and what is already on your cases stays until you delete it.
Google user data
When you press Connect Google and approve Google's screen, Google gives the site access to that Google account's Drive, Gmail and Calendar. The site uses that access only for the features below, each of which you start or switch on in Case Velocity.
- Google Drive (see, edit, create and delete your Drive files): making and listing a folder for each case; putting the files you add on a case into it; finding a file you search for; reading the forms, templates and letterheads in the forms folder you choose, so drafts start from your own documents; reading every file in a case's folder and its subfolders when you ask the site for a draft or a letter on that case, so it is written from the client's own papers; copying your letterhead into the case folder and writing a letter on it with Google Docs; saving copies of a filed email's attachments into the case folder; and writing your firm's nightly backup into a "Case Velocity backups" folder. The site does not delete your files: the only things it moves to Drive's trash are its own backups older than your chosen number of days and a letter copy it could not finish.
- Gmail (read your email; manage drafts and send email): when you press Check email and calendar, reading the subject, sender, recipients, date and Gmail's short preview of your email from the last 7 days (not Promotions, Social or Forums) to suggest case updates that you accept or dismiss; reading a filed email's attachments to save them in the case folder; saving a Gmail draft when you ask for one; and sending an email only when you wrote it on the site and pressed Send, exactly as written. The site does not change, label, archive or delete your mail.
- Google Calendar (view and edit events): adding an event to your calendar when you press Add to Google Calendar, and reading your next 30 days of events when you press Check email and calendar.
AI. Some features use AI to produce their result. When you press Check email and calendar, the email details and calendar events described above are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to suggest the case updates; when you ask the site for a draft or a letter on a case, the files in that case's Drive folder (the text of each, and scanned papers and pictures as they are) and the template you chose, if any, are sent to write it; and when you press Ask Claude to find it while looking for a case, what you typed and a short line on each case being searched (its title, client, docket and file numbers, case type, places, the people on it, when it was opened and the start of its facts) are sent to find the ones that fit. Anthropic processes that content to answer the request, under commercial terms that do not allow it to train its models on it. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not allow our service providers to do so.
Sharing. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to judge creditworthiness or for lending, and we transfer it to no one except: as needed to provide these features (our hosting provider and our AI provider process it for us); at your direction, for example when your firm's own Claude account reads your case records, which can include case updates the site suggested from your email (your Claude account's terms with Anthropic then apply); to keep the service secure; to comply with the law; or as part of a merger or sale of the business, with your prior consent.
People. No one at Case Velocity reads your Google user data unless you ask us to (for example, to help with a support request), it is needed for security (such as investigating abuse), the law requires it, or it has been aggregated and anonymized for running the service.
Storage and security. Google user data is read when a feature needs it and is not kept on our servers, except: the connected account's email address and the permissions you granted; the access and refresh tokens Google issues, which we store encrypted (AES-256); and what the features save with your firm's records, such as the case updates the site suggests (and whether you accepted them), the drafts the site writes for you (with the names and links of the files each one was written from), and the names and links of your forms and of the files, letters and emails filed on a case. Files and letters stay in your own Google Drive. Connections to the site, and from the site to Google and to our AI provider, are encrypted (HTTPS).
Your control. Press Disconnect in Settings at any time: the site asks Google to revoke its access and deletes the stored tokens at once. You can also remove Case Velocity from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the rest of your firm's records, including anything derived from Google user data, write to admin@legalvelocity.ai.
Case Velocity's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and to the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy.
How it is used
Only to run the service for your firm. The few emails the site sends (an invitation to a free account, notices that free time is about to end or has ended) are delivered through Resend, a mail delivery service, and each has a link at its foot to stop them. To give each user their LVAI Pro seat, the site sends each user's name and email address, the firm's name and whether the firm's access is open to Legal Velocity's license server (operated by Legal Velocity, Inc., like Case Velocity); case records are never sent there. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. Records are stored in a database used only by Case Velocity, in a space reachable only by your firm's sign-ins and the Claude connection you authorized.
Your choices
You can export your records, remove users, disconnect Claude, and cancel the subscription from inside the site. To close the account and delete the firm's records, write to admin@legalvelocity.ai.
